Gin description
Crown Jewel London Dry Gin was originally made by Beefeater in 1993, but it was discontinued in 2009 with the introduction of Beefeater 24. It's bottled at 50% ABV and features a slightly different botanical selection, creating a full palate of fresh citrus, candied peels and a dash of pepper. The bird on the bottle is a reference to the ravens at the Tower of London, where the Yeomen Warders featured on regular Beefeater gin bottles stand guard. Legend has it that if the ravens were to leave the tower, the crown and Britain would fall. Today, the Beefeater Crown Jewel is available once again, but exclusively to the on-trade (except for a very limited number of bottles being sold at Beefeater).
