Gin description
A barn, which was built behind the old mill, in the northern part of Rotterdam is the place where the Old Dutch Distillers has begun distilling vodka and gin. This all started in an old disused boiler, which has been repaired by a friend to Schiedam. Herman 'Old Dutch' de Jong was born in 1848. He was the second child of a large family living in the north of Rotterdam. His father was a skipper with a decent feast for drinks. Partly this is fueled his interest in the drink. He's at an early age entered the footsteps of his father, and started work on a ship. Because he has done a number of years, he came into contact with many products which he always tried something new. This was for the work of Old Dutch Distillers. Herman 'Old Dutch' De Jong got the nickname because he always dreamed to sell his product in America. He often ran to get lost on the Port of Rotterdam in his own dreams. The Old Dutch gin is now world famous and still wrapped laid in a beautiful Old Dutch bottle of 700 ml, the soft finish makes Old Dutch unique and Herman had the block that was introduced after Prohibition in 1930.
