RHINO BEETLE GIN

Gin description

Having grown up in South Africa, I always jump at the opportunity to design for companies and start-ups based in the country. I was asked by a craft gin producer in the Limpopo Province to create a logo and label design for their series of gins – named after and inspired by the Scarabaeidae Beetle, more commonly known as the Rhino Beetle. The challenge was set to come up with a design that could be used across all five gins in the series, reflecting the local botanicals and flavours used in the hand-crafted spirit. I created a detailed, hand-drawn black and white illustration of the beetle, with minimalist typographic design around it to convey the rest of the information.
