At Samsø you can find the ingredients right outside the door, including juniper berries and jet black ants. This unique combination of flavors formed the basis of Sams Island Gin. Jet black ants (Lasius fuliginosus) are closely related to the black garden ants. These ants have a shiny black color, and they taste and smell like orange peel.
