When 16 sommeliers for noble brandies began their traineeship in the old cloister of St. Ulrich in the Black Forest, soon the idea was born to bottle the spirit of the monastic training. It was intended to produce no less than pure pleasure. Numerous attempts and comparisons took place – until the first bottle of Somm 16 was born in a distillery near Lake Constance.
