Our Gin URGROSSVATER combines tradition and taste of its most beautiful form: Because our great-great-great-grandfather invented around 1770 in Westphalia the "Steinhäger," the original form of German gin. In his honor, our great-great-grandfather named his juniper brandy URGROSSVATER around 1900. In our distillery we distill our gin based on the centuries-old and secret family recipe of our great-great-great-grandfather. It gets its flavor from the combination of more than 12 organic botanicals - besides juniper, among others, cardamom, gentian root and the freshness of grapefruit. This is tradition that you can taste.
