No. 209 Chardonnay Barrel Reserve Gin

Gin description

As an homage to our winemaking roots we decided to age our flagship No. 209 Gin in used wine barrels from our sister winery Rudd Oakville Estate in Napa Valley as an experiment in 2013. We selected beautiful French oak barrels that once housed Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc and started aging these two distinctive spirits and tasted frequently to track the progression of the spirit in barrel. We were thrilled with the finished products creating very different flavor profiles for each respected aging vessel. Flash forward to 2015 in which we have expanded our Barrel Reserve offerings to include a Chardonnay Barrel Reserve Gin to be release in late September 2015 from Edge Hill Estate in St. Helena, the original birthplace of Distillery No. 209.
