Scotch whisky that's aged or finished in ex-Sherry casks is a beautiful thing, but why should whisky have all the fun - what about gin? For Batch 6, Ableforth’s Bathtub Gin was aged in a cask that was previously used to age Oloroso Sherry. Nose: Orange chocolate and oak-y cinnamon sticks. Oily juniper and a touch of black pepper. Taste: Well-rounded Oloroso notes, complete with chocolate-covered raisins. Another helping of jammy orange. Finish: Soft cedar and layers of peppermint.
