Goeie Mie Gin is an organic Leiden gin, inspired by the story of the Leiden poisoner. She made over 100 victims at the end of the 19th century by posing as a helpful neighbor and caring family member, after which she poisoned them with arsenic and secretly arranged insurance premiums. Good Mie Gin is made with nine organic botanicals. Juniper, the basis of all gins, gives the drink the light blue color. Elderberry and elderflower are nowadays popular in tonics. In the time of Goeie Mie this, although uncooked slightly toxic, was used in drinks and medicine. In the gin this provides the special and floral taste. The herbs provide a firm bite, apple and citrus for the fresh aftertaste.
