Kaiserjagd Gin

Gin description

Liqueurs, brandies and regional specialities have been available in a special ambience at the St. Wolfganger Klosterkellerei monastery winery since 2004. Renate and Hannes Peinsteiner have driven this project over the last few years, aiming to create spirits that represent the region. Following a long period of searching for flavours and testing, the recipe for a Premium Gin emerged. In 2015, the Seedestillerie distillery was founded, a special boiler in line with the London Dry process was developed, and gin distillation started in July 2016. The third gin from the region took shape on an autumn hike on Zimnitz, the local mountain of Bad Ischl, where Renate and Hannes Peinsteiner discovered new botanicals. We were in Emperor Franz Joseph’s main hunting grounds at the time. Thus the Kaiserjagd Gin (imperial hunting grounds gin) was created, with its refreshing aroma, as if one was hunting in the thick mountain pine forest.
