Gin Sul has again brought out a special edition! Rota do Sul was bottled in limited numbers of 2,000 bottles, each bottle was numbered by hand. The name of the Limited Edition 2016 is in German "Route of the South" because emerged Rota do Sul is practically on the road. in affectionate manual labor and small batches between Odeceixe on the southwest coast of Portugal, Sagres in the far southwest of the country and Silves, one of the most popular areas for growing oranges, it was distilled. the bottles carry the flavor of the Portuguese summer in itself, captured by the two gin Sul-distillers Paul and Stephen, who set out in summer 2016 with their old motorcycles on a trip to the Iberian peninsula. Included in the package they had a gas powered, copper 5-liter-column distillation, knife, bag and scissors, to harvest ingredients along the way can, maps and of course a canister with fresh two-stroke oil, so that the old wheels would stay the trip. What is in Rota do Sul? Bright yellow straw flowers line the summer fields and roadsides in Portugal. The scent of flowers reminiscent of curry. was harvested which actually originates from Italy plant in Aljezur. Two hundredweight oranges were distilled directly in the Altona spirits manufacturers, because the small brought alembic was simply too small for that. From the shell of untreated oranges so originated in Hamburg a very pure distillate. Completely nothing but the brought still was not: On the beach of Odeceixe freshly picked thyme flowers were distilled directly. The result: a precious essence, recalls the scent of thyme and fragrant roses. Also in gin include: Oregano, apricots and lemons. The base of each Gins is water. That for this fire comes from the source "Caldas de Monchique" and was filled into containers and sent to Hamburg. With the precious healing water, after which the Romans were already crazy, they brought this Limited Edition to a drinking strength of 50%. The Gin comes therefore as usual in a greyish-white clay bottle. Printed is the bottle with the name of the special edition and a picture of a motorcycle that is fully packed with the ingredients for Rota do Sul. Responsible for the design of the Hamburg tattoo Tobias Tietchen. The closure consists of a natural cork, which is surrounded by a brass hexagonal pattern.
