Creating a balanced gin requires a great deal of effort and craft'bird'ship. The journey starts with the selection of fine raw botanicals, this is in my heart and soul. Being the migratory bird that I am, the winds have blown me to every corner of the world. At eacht magical place the wind brought me, I carefully picked the best botanicals to create a unique and delicate formula. ​With my love for vanilla, I could do nothing else than to bring it's pure essence into the recipe. A smooth and harmonious gin and most importantly, different. It's an ongoing adventure without any borders or end. For flamingos who don’t just want to fit in but want to create their own story. As I see it, it all started with a flamingo with a vision. I grew up on the island of Réunion, the Vanilla capital of the world. Developing an addiction there for Vanilla wasn’t difficult. Within the flamingo community and their sense of identity, I always saw myself differently. When everybody was standing on their left leg, I chose to stand on my right. While my fellows from the flock sat at the table, I wanted to dance on it. Instead of being a sitting duck, I wanted to read books, write poetry and explore the world. Where’s the fun in following the flock? They told me I couldn’t, that’s why I did it. Being an individual spirit, I flew in a northerly direction to the city of the young and restless, a city called Amsterdam. I was taking a different path, but that didn’t mean I was lost. And if I did get lost, it actually helped me find myself. By doing the opposite, by being unusual, I challenged myself to try new things. My fellow flamingos never expected me to become the founder of a Vanilla gin. Vanilla makes them birds shake their tail feathers, so call me your wingman. I always felt like doing it differently. I did it my way. The truth is in the adventure, great gin is only half the story. Be yourself and be unique. Be as free as a bird.
