Scotch whisky that's aged or finished in ex-Sherry casks is a beautiful thing, but why should whisky have all the fun - what about gin? For Batch 1, Ableforth’s Bathtub Gin was aged in a cask that was previously used to age the mysterious Palo Cortado Sherry. On the nose, slice of Rocky Road with cinnamon ice-cream. Working our way around the cake stand, we find flavours of date crumble slices: full of baking spices and lightly sweetened by the fruit. The finish is long and lingering, with hints of chai tea and coffee beans.
