Gin description
Each month, a tiny fraction of our Gin St. Laurent production takes over old whiskey barrels. Thus, after resting for over a year in oak barrels, our famous gin infused with seaweed becomes Gin Vieux St. Laurent. We rediscover the characteristic aromas of Gin St. Laurent in a whole new light: herbaceous and floral notes intermingle with aromas of pinewood evoking the Quebec boreal forest. Rather discreet in the original version, the citrus fruits explode in the mouth. The finish remains true to the signature of Gin St. Laurent: a marine and iodine hint from the maceration of laminaria seaweed (kombu) harvested in the St. Lawrence River. Time permeates its mark: cereal and woody notes brought by aging in whiskey barrels enrich the aromatic complexity of the liquid. In short, Old Gin is a great tasting gin that only occasionally accepts a few ice cubes as the only company.
